Baptized Millbrook, Bedfordshire, 7 Feb 1612[/3], son of Thomas Stiles (aged 20 on 16 Mar 1634/5). Carpenter who came from London to Massachusetts Bay in 1635 on the Christian (on 16 Mar 1634/5, "Tho[mas]Stiles," aged 20, was enrolled at London as a passenger for New England on the Christian). First settled at Windsor CT; moved to Flushing NY in 1645. Died by 29 Sep 1683.
Married (1) On 6 Dec 1664, "Richard Nicolls" issued a "warrant to the magistrates of Flushing for the restoring of the wife of John Wood: Whereas I am informed thay Ann the wife of John Wood of Road Island, is and hath been for the space of about two years past, harbored by Thomas Styles of the Town of Flushing, who, in her absence from her husband, hath had two children, these are to require you to make inquiry into the business, and to prevent further scandal, that you cause the said Ann to be restored to her husband, withwhat goods are in the custody of Thomas Styles, belonging to the said John Wood, or his wife."
