Civil War veteran. Company F 72nd NY. Enlisted 5/26/1861. Fought at Fredericksburg, Chancelorsville and Gettysburg. Captured on 5/10/1864. Was in 3 southern prisons including Andersonville. Escaped and made his way back to Union lines. Discharged 7/6/1865. Worked as a hatter in Orange NJ until his death. Married to Mary Joyce Babbidge.
