Sobers, Clara Genevieve "Squig" (Campbell) 87, of Hart, passed away Friday, Jan. 29, 2010. She was born April 18, 1922 in Ferry Township to Dr. Clifford C. Campbell and Alice (Rollins) Campbell. She was raised in Ferry and married Henry D. Sobers June 29, 1941. They moved to Walhalla upon their marriage and lived in several towns before moving to Ferry in 1946. The Sobers lived in Hebron, Ill. from 1967 to 1990 before returning once again to Ferry. Henry passed away in 1991 and Mrs. Sobers lived near Hart the past few years. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, crossword puzzles and reading. Mrs. Sobers is survived by her children, Linda Humphreys of Hart, Jim (Kathy) Sobers of Montague, Joe Sobers of Crystal Lake, Ill. and Jessie Horton of Hebron, Ill.; her sister-in-law, Bonniebelle Campbell of Montana; special friend, Bebe VanLent of Hebron, Ill.; two nephews; one niece; 15 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Harold Campbell, grandchildren, Gregory and Timothy Sobers, and her son-in-law, Kenneth Humphreys. The funeral service was Tuesday, Feb. 2, 11 a.m. at Harris Funeral Home in Shelby with Pastor Richard Williams officiating. Interment: Ferry Township Cemetery. Memorials to Mission For Area People through Temple United Methodist Church 2500 Jefferson St., Muskegon Heights, MI 49444 or the Muskegon Rescue Mission, 1691 Peck St., Muskegon, MI 49441 are appreciated.
