Visitation is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Gehrig and Son Funeral Home in Sidney. A parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday and funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick's Church in Sidney with the Rev. Francis Curran officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter's Cemetery in Fleming 12:30 p.m. Friday.
Mr. Huss was born Oct. 22, 1916, to Michael and Elizabeth Hartwig Huss in Padroni.
He was raised in Logan County and attended St. Anthony's School in Sterling. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Huss worked for the Highway De partment in Logan County for many years.
He married Elda Hume Queen Nov. 28, 1981, in Sidney. They have made their home in Sidney since then.
Mr. Huss was a member of the Fleming VFW, Sterling Elks Lodge, St. Peter's Holy Name So ciety in Fleming, St. Patrick's Church in Sidney and the Sidney Senior Citizens. He was an avide gardener and card player.
Mr. Huss is survived by his wife, Elda, of Sidney; a daughter, Marcy Huss of Aurora; a son, Bob and wife Gayle of Greeley; a brother, John of Arvada; two sis ters, Mary Miles of Fleming and Barbara Chipman of Denver; two step-sons, Merlyn Queen of Haxtun and Maynard Queen of Fort Collins; four grandchildren and one step-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Kuskie Huss; two brothers, Jacob and Michael; and two sisters, Katherine Bennett and Elizabeth Carasco.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Patrick's Education Fund.
