Baptized Stotfold, Bedford, 5 May 1611, son of Gerald & Alice (Whitebread) Spencer. Came from Stotfold to Massachusetts Bay in 1634 (based on grant of land at Cambridge on 1 Sep 1634). First settled at Cambridge; later moved to Lynn MA. Died by 29 Nov 1653 (appointment of administrator).
Married by about 1640 Isabel ____. She married (2) by 30 Nov 1654 Thomas Robbins & died at Salem on 9 Oct 1674. (On 31 Mar 1657, "Thomas Robins and Henry Skerry [were] bound for the appearance of Elizabeth Robins when the court shall call for her." At the same court, "Thomas Robins [was] bound to bring his wife, Isabel Robans, to next court at Salem to answer suspicion against her." On 1 Jul 1657, "Thomas Robins [was] bound for his wife's appearance to answer to a charge of concealing things stolen by her son. She was fined & ordered to pay Rob[er]t Lord,").
Michael Spencer was brother of WILLIAM SPENCER {1631, Cambridge}, THOMAS SPENCER {1633, Cambridge}, & JARED SPENCER {1634, Cambridge}. Elizabeth, the wife of TIMOTHY TOMLINS {1632, Cambridge}, was probably sister of Michael Spencer.
