Albert J. Zaitz, 53, of Sussex, Wis., died Sunday evening at a Hartford hospital of injuries received in an automobile accident which occurred Sunday.

Mr. Zaitz was born June 17, 1918, in the the town of Vilas, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Zaitz Sr.

He was employed in Milwaukee prior to enlisting in the United States Navy on July 18, 1944. After his discharge from service on Oct. 30, 1945, he operated a dairy farm in the town of Vilas. For the past three years he has lived in Sussex, and was employed in road construction in the Milwaukee area.

On Nov. 15, 1941, he was married in Antigo to the former Doris Strobel, who survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Daniel (Cecile) Nicholson of route 3, Gleason; three sons, LaVerne and Lester of Little Rock, Ark., and Donald, serving with the armed forces in Vietnam; three brothers, Frank of route 3, Gleason, John of Menasha and Joseph of Rochelle, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Louis Chadek of Pelican Lake and Mrs. Charles Malish of Deerbrook; and nine grandchildren.
