He had served on the Lawrence County Tax Adjustment Board and Bedford City Housing Authority, was assessor for Lawrence County from 1970 to 1978; Lawrence County commissioner from 1965 to 1969, and was a Guthrie Township Democrat trustee. He also was a member of the Methodist Church in Fort Ritner, the Farm Bureau and American Association of Retired Persons. He is survived by his wife, Lucille.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Harold and Ervin Baker; three sisters, Laura Wheeler, Mary Durham and Dorothy Mosier, two brothers, Roy and Granville Baker.
Services will be at Day and Carter Mortuary with Rev. Harold Bair officiating, with burial at Dixon Chapel Cemetery.
