FROSTBURG,MARYLAND -- May Bruner Bolt, 84, of 57 Broadway, died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2000, at the St. Vincent DePaul Nursing Care Center, Frostburg.
Born May 5, 1916, in Eckhart, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Stella (Engle) Bruner. Her husband, William Joseph Bolt, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Bolt was a retired postmaster of the Eckhart Post Office. She was a lifelong member of the Eckhart Methodist Church and attended the Frostburg United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Frostburg House and Garden Club, Soroptimist Club, the Maplehurst Country Club, the Allegany College Foundation Board of Directors, and formerly served on the Allegany County Board of Education before she was appointed to the Maryland State Board of Education.
Surviving are one son, Lieutenant General William Joseph Bolt, Ret., and wife Diana, Blythewood, S.C.; four grandchildren, Diana B. Perreiah and husband Peter, Pittsburgh, Pa., Elizabeth B. Hackett and husband Dr. Charles, Hanover, N.H., Katherine B. Hanley and husband Christopher, Kensington, Md., and Michael J. Bolt, Columbia, S.C.; and four great-grandchildren, Taylor Hanley, Kayla Hanley, Diana Perreiah and Thomas Finnegan Hackett.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Darryl Gill officiating.
Interment will be in the St. Michael's Cemetery, Frostburg.
The family requests memorials be directed to the May B. Bolt Scholarship Fund, c/o Allegany College of Maryland Foundation, 1240 Willowbrook Road SE., Cumberland, MD 21502.
