John Douglas Northrop, 67 of Vancleave, MS passed away November 15, 2009 at his home.
Mr. Northrop was born August 14, 1942 in Gulfport, MS to the late Dan and Shirley Northrop. He moved to this area with his family in 1955. John met and married Jacqueline Louise Sclease on February 12, 1965. He was an employee for Northrop Grumman for 43 years. He was a charter member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Vancleave and was active with church fundraisers including Lenten fish fries and the county fair booth. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jackie Northrop of Vancleave; two daughters, Trace Yadav of Pascagoula, MS and Pam Berdine and her husband Darin of Gulfport, MS; two granddaughters, Gabrielle and Kimberly Yadav both of Harleston, MS; a brother, Dan Northrop and wife Ruth of Pascagoula, MS; two sisters, Gayle Meisner and husband Arlon of Raytown , MO and Ellen Cole and husband Ray of Pascagoula, MS
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 18, 2009 from 9:00-12:00 pm at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Vancleave with Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Machpelah Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be his nephews: M. Ray "Hoppy" Cole, Dan Northrop, Jr. Bo Cole, Todd Northrop, Jack Northrop, Michael Bartmess, and Brian Bartmess. Honorary pallbearers will be his coffee drinking friends and buddies.
