John J. Golmitz, age 70, of 2221 Lilly Road, Vienna, died Thursday, November 12, 2009, at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon.

Born in Hazlehurst, he was the son of the late John Golmitz and Montine Wyndham Golmitz. He was a US Marine Corps veteran, a member of Lilly United Methodist Church and a member of Millwood Masonic Lodge. Mr. Golmitz retired from Robins Air Force Base where he was a Sheet Metal Mechanic.

Survivors include:
Wife: Martha Jean Dorough Golmitz of Vienna

Daughter-in-law: Marianne Golmitz of Macon

Half sister: Debbie Helmy of Savannah

Half brother: Ricky Golmitz of Mobile, AL

Grandchildren: Kees Golmitz of Macon
Chris Golmitz of Macon

He was preceded in death by his sons, Jimmy Golmitz and Jeff Golmitz.

Funeral services will be at 2 PM Saturday, November 14 in Lilly United Methodist Church with interment in the Sangster-Dorough Cemetery.

The family will greet friends 3 - 5 PM Friday, November 13 at the funeral home.
