Our beloved Thelma Inez Marr went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 26, 2009. Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers will host a gathering of friends and family from 6-8 p.m., Monday, November 30, at the funeral home. A service to celebrate her 98 years of life will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 1, at the First Baptist Church, Meadow, Texas, followed by a committal service at Meadow Cemetery in Meadow, Texas.
Thelma Inez was born on October 24, 1911 to Benjamin and Mary Peller Clemmer in Putman, Texas. On December 10, 1930, she married Louis Ray Joplin in Clovis, New Mexico, and he preceded her in death on January 9, 1937. She married Raymond Marr, and he preceded her in death.
Thelma was a resident of Meadow, where she drove a school bus for several years in order to provide for her children following her husband, Louis' death.
She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and four babies.
Thelma is survived by her son, Lawrence Ray Joplin and wife, Ruth of Lubbock; daughter, Doris Eugenia Bezdek of Hillsboro, TX; sister, Rowena Caswell of Meadow; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren; and sister, Rowena Caswell of Meadow.
