Ed Ellingson, Sr., a long time resident of Crookston, died Sunday at the age of 87 at a Crookston hospital after a long illness. He was bom in Fillmore County, March 10, 1869, and came to Crookston with his parents when he was six years old. He married the former Christine Sandmoen on April 3,1892
They moved to Gatzke, where he was engaged in farming for 19 years and then to Langdon, where he farmed for 11 years. They then moved to Crookston where they have made their home since.
He is survived by his widow and 11 children, Elvin of Grand Rapids, Clifford and Alton, of Crookston, Edward of Aurora, Mrs. Alfred (Effie) Swedberg, of Larimore, N.D., Mrs. Oliver (Stella) Campbell of Walhalla, N.D., Mrs. D.Q.(Orpha) Barnes of Minot, N.D., Kyle of Red Lake Falls, Milton of Spokane, Wash, Mrs. Amy Koshan of Crookston, and Mrs. Gordon (Ina) McGauley of Oregon; 64 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sons.
Funeral services for Mr. Ellingson will be held Wednesday at 2 p. m, from the Norman Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Oakdale cemetery. The body may be viewed at the funeral home from 4 to 9 p. m., Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be grandsons of Mr. Ellingson.
