ELINOR GLEN SMITH, 78. Loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away February 27, 2009 peacefully in her home. Elinor was born February 13, 1931 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She is preceded in death by her son Stephen, mother and father Glen and Lola Smith and brother Foy Smith. She is survived by her sister-Dean Dubois and husband Sam; Brother Gary Smith and wife Martha; Daughters, Paula Courtney and husband Ryan, Beverly Eppolito and husband John. Grandchildren; Denver Courtney, Carey Rodriguez, Dustin Eppolito, Tony Eppolito and Travis Eppolito. Great Grandchildren; Devin Courtney, Ashley Courtney, Cadyn Cross and Emma Rodriguez.

One of the first women executives of her time; Elinor worked at Cameron Iron Works for over 25 years. After writing Cameron's Sales, Systems and Procedures Manual, she traveled around the world overseeing its implementation. She loved her family and friends, but was especially fond of her grandchildren. She was most known for her sense of humor, leadership, hard work ethic
and organizational gifts.

Elinor lead a very interesting and full life from aquaplaning on the waters of Corpus, twirling and dancing (she was the best), to photography, bowling, and running Courtney & Company the last 15 years. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A visitation will be held at the home of Ryan and Paula Courtney, Sunday, March 1, 2009 from 5 to 8 pm; 8801 Croes Drive 77055. Services will be held 10 am Monday, March 2, 2009 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 1101 Antoine Drive 77055. A family burial will follow, Feagin Cemetery, Livingston, Texas.
