Well known service station operator and farmer, who resided near Wilson, died suddenly. He had been ill two weeks. He passed away Wednesday at the family home. Probable funeral arrangements will be held Friday at the Wilson Church of Christ. Burial will be at Hewitt Cemetery arranged by Bettes Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be GEORGE KERPE, JIM HICKMAN, EARL GOODE, LAVELLE SCOTT, JOHN ROBERTS, and G.P. GREEN.
WILLIAM OSCAR KIMBRELL was born July 12, 1870 in Navarro County, Texas and passed away at the family home near Wilson September 4, 1940. He was a member of the Church of Christ for many years. He was engaged in farming and also operated a filling station at the time of his death. He had resided near Wilson for the past 40 years. He came from Montague County, Texas.
Survivors are his widow, Mrs. MATTIE KIMBRELL; four daughters, Mrs. ARTIE TYNES of Ardmore, Mrs. VIRGIE CRAFT of Healdton, Mrs. J.A. WALLEN of Cowden, Illinois, and Mrs. ERNESTINE JOHNSON of St. Elmo, Illinois; four sons, L.O. KIMBRELL of Kilgore, Texas, BILL KIMBRELL of Wilson, ROY KIMBRELL of Borger, Texas, and DENNIS KIMBRELL of Oilton; four sisters, Mrs. MAGGIE ROGERS of Wilson, Mrs. BEULAH SMOOTH of Oilton, Mrs. W.A. HARRIS of Wilson and Mrs. EVA SKAGGS of St. Elmo, Illinois; two brothers, T.B. KIMBRELL of Wilson, and H.E. KIMBRELL of Wilson, 27 grandchildren and 8 great-children.
Also had twin sons, Lawrence & Lemuel, who were born and who died in 1902.
