Rites at Houlka for Mrs. Harwood
Mrs. Mattie Mae Harwood, widow of the late J O Harwood of Houlka, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. T J Dendy, with whom she made her home, at 8:30 Wednesday morning, Nov. 13, following a lingering illness. She was 69 years of age.
Services will be conducted from the Houlka Baptist Church Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. W A Robinson, pastor of the Houston Baptist Church and the Rev. Bob Posey, pastor of the Houlka Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Houlka with Houston Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Harwood was born Nov. 7, 1888 in Webster County, the daughter, of William M Dalton and Eliza Blalack Dalton. She was a member of the Houston Baptist Church.
She leaves three daughters, Mrs. Dendy of Houston, Mrs. S E Drake of DeFunrak Springs, Fla., and Mrs. Travis Cain of Blemont, Miss.; a son, the Rev. Paul Harwood of Ft. Worth, Tex.; three brothers, D F Dalton of Alva, Miss., M C Dalton, Sr., of Starkville and Joe N Dalton of Mathiston; two sisters, Mrs. Muldrew Dalton of Mantee, and Mrs. B G Eubank of Pontotoc. Ten grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews also survive
