Barbara J. Brown Unruh Thompson, 66, Wichita died Saturday, Sept 3.

A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept 7, in West Heights United Methodist, 745 Westlink, in Wichita, with Rev. Ken Hathaway officiating. A private burial service will be at Elmwood Cemetery.

She was born on March 22, 1928 in Bloomington as the daughter of Leonard R. and Jessie Berger Brown.

On March 21, 1992, she married Charles Thompson in Wichita. He survives.

She was a member of the West Heights United Methodist Church the Women's Golf Association, McIntosh Cumputer Club, and was a YMCA Volunteer.

In addition to her husband the retired Wichita Public Schools elementary school music teacher is survived by a son, Bruce Unruh of Wichita; a daughter, Cheryl Semmler of Grosse Pointe, Mich.; her mother, Jessie Brown, step-sons, Phil Thompson, Victor Thompson, all of Wichita; step-daughter, Traci Duncan, Atlanta, Ga.; two brothers, Sidney Brown of Norman, Okla., Stanley Brown of Doylestown,Pa.; three grandchildren, and two step grandchildren.

A memorial has been established with the West Heights United Methodist Church, Barbara J. Unruh Thompson Building Fund Memorial.

Cochran Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
