A. G. Dodson Claimed by Death

A. G. Dodson, aged 77 years, passed away at his home in this city last Friday, Feb. 22, 1929, at 3:15 p.m. He had been confined to his bed only eight days but had been in failing health for two years.

The funeral was held at the home Saturday afternoon at 3:30, Revs. H. L. Griffin and Fred A. Tucker officiating. Burial was in Green Hill cemetery.

Mr. Dodson had lived in and near Davis the past 18 years, coming from Texas. He was born in Lynnville, Tenn., Aug. 14, 1851, and moved to Texas in 1878. He ran a wagon yard and feed store in Davis for many years and later engaged in farming, giving up farm work last year when his health failed.

He is survived by his wife and eight children, namely: Gillie And Tom Dodson of Davis; Mrs. J. L. Rossen, Purcell; J. E. Dodson, Sinton, Texas; Mrs. O. L. Wright, Mrs. Fay Sturms and Mrs. Wanie Thrasher of Oklahoma City, all whom were present at the funeral. His eldest son, Charley, died two years ago. One child, aged 3, died in 1882.

Mr. Dodson was a good man and honorable citizen, and used the Golden Rule as his life's motto. He lived an upright, useful life and was well known and well liked man.
