Mary C. Behm, 93, of Gibsonburg died Sunday evening at the Elmwood Assisted Living of Fremont.
Mary was born on Aug. 1, 1912 in Fremont to William F. and Emma R. (Wolf) Beck. A 1931 graduate of Fremont Ross High School, she married Ernest Behm in Fort Wayne on Dec. 28, 1945. Ernie died on Dec. 8, 1996.
Mary was a homemaker, member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gibsonburg and the Fremont Order of the Eastern Star. For many years she was active in the Zion Women of the Church and Altar Flower Committee. She enjoyed donating time and materials to "Quilts for Kids" organization. Mary enjoyed knitting and crocheting, usually giving her projects away. In the 1940s she was secretary for the Rainbow Flyers Motorcycle Club of Fremont.
Surviving her are her daughters, Judy, son-in-law, Mark Thrift of Camp Hill, Pa., Barbara Ann Behm of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and sister Irene Lapinski of Toledo.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ernest and brothers Alfred, Arthur and Charles.
Visitation: 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Gibsonburg.
Services: 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Pastor Robert Wietelmann presiding.
Burial: West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg.
Memorials: Sandusky County Humane Society.
