Patricia Ann Riney, 75, of Owensboro, died Friday, November 20, 2009, at Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born November 18, 1934 to the late William Gerald and Catherine Fitzpatrick Riney in Daviess County. She had been Deputy Clerk for the Daviess County Court Clerks Office, a member of the Catholic Faith, she was a member of the First Spastic Guild, which eventually helped establish the Wendell Foster Center. She enjoyed flower gardening, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Gerald Riney, and a son-in-law, Joe Noble. Survivors include her son, Patrick Betts of Owensboro, her daughters, Terrie Merimee of Owensboro, and Donna Noble of Norfolk, VA; three step-children, three grandchildren, Todd Payne of Virginia Beach, VA, Neil Payne and Charity Pogue, both of Owensboro; and ten great-grandchildren; her brothers, Joe (Sue) Riney, and Marnell (Mary Edna) Riney, both of Owensboro, her sister, Mary Catherine (Paul) Pfister of Louisville; a life-long friend, Greacia Alvey of Beech Grove. Services will be 12:00 PM Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial in St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday, and after 10:00 AM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Western Kentucky, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42301.
