Robert (Bob) Sikes 81 died Sunday at the Candler County Hospital after an extended illness. The native of Tattnall County lived most of his life in Metter and was retired from the Department of Transportation. Mr. Bob was of the Baptist Faith an army veteran of the Korean conflict, worked several years at Hooks Mortuary, enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. Survivors; His wife of 55years Shirley Hodges Sikes, Daughters; Wanda (Phil) Finnerty, Linda (Troy) Oglesby, Bobbie Jo (Jody) Nasworthy, Grandchildren; Garrett and Jansin Jarrell and Shaylin and Payce Oglesby. Great Grandchildren; Keagan and Kylie Ann Jarrell. Funeral services will be 2:00 Wednesday at Cedar Street Baptist Church with burial in the Sunlight Cemetery; visitation will be Tuesday evening 6-8 at the funeral home.
