Dean Jackson, was born Feb. 12, 1935, at Enterprise, Kansas, the son of Peter and Alma E. (Landrum) Jackson, and departed this life Dec. 11, 2008 having attained the age of 73 years. He grew to manhood in the community of his birth, attended the Enterprise Schools and graduated from Chapman High with the class of 1952. He worked for the Ehrsams Company, Enterprise, Kansas, from 1954 until 1996 as a machinist. He also farmed on the family farm until retiring in 2007. He served with the United States Army in Korea from 1956-1958. He married Sharon Kerbs and they had four children. On May 22, 1987 he married Pamala Berven of Iowa City, Iowa, in Navarre, Kansas. All their married life was spent on the family farm in Enterprise. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Enterprise, Kansas.

A kind and friendly man, loving husband, father, and grandfather he is survived by his wife Pamala of the home, two sons, Leland D. Jackson, and wife Denise, Enterprise, Kansas, and Dwayne Jackson, and wife Terri, Abilene, Kansas, two daughters, Linda Hasselman, Abilene, Kansas, and Laura Hoffman, Navarre, Kansas, two brothers, Ray Jackson, Enterprise, Kansas, and Lloyd Jackson, Abilene, Kansas, three sisters, Ava Lois Nowlan, and Nina Ruth King both of ElDorado Springs, Missouri, and Phyllis Jean Miller, Boston, Massachusetts, five step children, Frederick Brockman, Tucson, Arizona, MSgt William Brockman, Hill AFB, Ogden, Utah, Beau Brockman, Iowa City, Iowa, Kim Brockman, Clarence, Iowa, and Kelly Markley, and husband Mike, White City, Kansas, 9 grandchildren, 15 step grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Seth Hoffman, and three brothers, Doyle, Lester, and Dale Jackson.
