Meredith "Bud" Dorsey Cook, 84, of Hampstead died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008, at the Baltimore V.A. Medical Center in Baltimore.
Born Jan. 25, 1924, in Frederick, he was the son of the late Dorsey Granville and Carrie Elizabeth Kramer Cook. He was the husband of Mabel Elizabeth Bussard Cook, his wife of 61 years.
He was retired from American Standard and was a veteran of the Army.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters and sons-in-law Katherine and Eddie Hungerford of Keedysville, Diane and Jack Dziemburski, and Joyce and Dennis McCarty, all of Dundalk; sons and daughters-in-law Larry and Linda Cook of Ocean City, David and Pam Cook of Monrovia and Thomas Cook of Hampstead; sisters and brothers-in-law Marie and Eddie Bates, and Betty Jane and Johnny Nichols; brothers and sisters-in-law Millard and Ann Cook, and Melvin and Shirley Cook; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by siblings Frances Cook, Ruth Burns, Mabel Shankle, Ruby Tomczewski and Richard Cook.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Frederick.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Friends of the Farm, 18400 Muncaster Road, P.O. Box 5810, Derwood, MD 20855.
