DIED
After an illness of three days, John Emerson, living one mile east of town, died on Thursday morning, of inflammation of the bowels, at the age of 60 years. Deceased enlisted Nov. 1, '62, joined Co. K, 1st Minn., Mounted Rangers and was honorably discharged December 10 '63. he came o Elysian some four years ago and purchased the present home from the Lange estate. He leaves a yong wife and two-year-old child to mourn his sudden demise.
Funeral will take place under the auspices of Maynard Post G. A R. on Friday.
