Gloria F. Acerra, 81, of Elberon, Long Branch died Friday, June 11, 2010 at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Long Branch.
She was born and Fair Haven and lived in Red Bank before moving to Long Branch in 1961. She was a communicant of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, West End, Long Branch and a graduate of Red Bank High School in 1946. She enjoyed many hobbies; reading, puzzles, knitting, crocheting and painting. She was a member of the International Library of Poetry and a published author. She was a bookkeeper at Rug-a-Rama in Neptune for 30 years retiring 10 years ago.
She was predeceased by her husband, Louis in 2004 and her parents, Mary and Samuel Rabito, brother, John Rabito and sister, Mary Sabolevsky.
Surviving are her step-son, Louis Acerra, Jr., of Long Branch, sister, Eleanor Patterson of Lincroft, brother, Samuel Rabito of Tuscan, AZ, niece, Kathleen Podleckis of Maryland, nephews, Thomas Sabolevsky of Middletown, Roy Sabolevsky, Robert and Roy Patterson all of California, Randolph Patterson of Lincroft and John Rabito, Jr. of Toms River, brother-in-law, Salvatore "Sam" Acerra of Long Branch and sister-in-law, Marlene Acerra of Whiting and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2-4 & 7-9 pm Tuesday at Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Funeral service will be held at 11 am Wednesday at the funeral home followed by burial at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport.
