--Jane Cynthia Moore, eldest child of Dr. William S. Moore and his wife, Harriet Baxter Springs, was born in 1822. She married in 1842 Joel Woodward Rawlinson of Richland District, S.C.
--She was a gentle and sweet voiced woman; possessed a kind, sympathetic heart; a devoted wife and mother, loyal always to friends and relatives, was truthful to a remarkable degree and was never known to exaggerate a narrative in the least, candid almost to a fault, very energetic, and looking well "to the ways of her household."
--She was educated at the celebrated Female Academy at Salem, N.C. Her death occurred on the 31st day of December, 1872, aged seventy-two years. "And her children shall rise up and call her blessed."
--Jane C. Moore and Joel W. Rawlinson had six children, their names were, first, William Moore, who died in infancy, then in succession, Walter, William Moore, Harriet Baxter, Mary Morgan and Frederick Baxter, who died in his eight year.
