Charles Wesley Roller passed away at his home on Nov. 20, 2009.
Charles was born on March 15, 1941, to Charles Fredrick and Morris Othello (Wyrick) Roller in Gateway, Benton County, Arkansas.
Around 1946, Charles and his family moved to Klamath Falls. He attended Mills Elementary School, Winema School in Tulelake, Calif., and Klamath Union High School and graduated from Merrill High School.
Charles worked at Weyerhaeuser Co., for 27 years until his medical retirement in 1990.
While attending Merrill High School, he was a state champion football player and also played football for the Shriners. He participated and excelled in track, running the high and low hurdles and the relay.
Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and backpacking. He also loved to golf. But his most enjoyable times were the times he spent with his family.
Charles is survived by his wife of 46 years, Kay Ann (Abbott) Roller; son, Damon Carson Roller; daughter and son-in-law, Dulcey and Donald Howard; daughter, Lolita (Rhoades) Amos; and sister, Sheila Faye Roller; grandchildren, Mercey, Nikole, Ashley, Gunnar, Derrick, Anthony, Dustin and Draven; numerous nieces and nephews; and two great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, brother and sister-in-law, Theodore Phillip and Anne Ludell (Peterson) Roller, brother Rickie Lee Roller, and granddaughter Mary Kristine Roller.
He also leaves behind special friends David and Ruth Montgomery and Hector and Shana Flores-Rios.
As per his wishes, there will be no memorial or services.
Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to High Desert Hospice, 2894 Greensprings Drive, or the American Diabetes Association .
A get together of family and friends will be held on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the home of Dulcey and Donald Howard, 5617 Cottage Ave. Call (541) 331-4451 for directions.
