Ann Elizabeth Schmiett, 86, our loving mom and grandma, passed away on November 20, 2009 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She resided at 7636 South Lincoln Street (250 West) in Midvale, Utah at the tme of her death.
She was born July 10, 1923 in Cedar View, Utah, the daughter of Edward Isaac and Lena Elizabeth Dixon Loranger.
On January 22, 1944, Ann married Stanley Wallace Schmiett. Stanley preceded her in death on October 3, 1996.
Ann loved to vacation and especially enjoyed summers in Long Beach, Washington. She enjoyed family history research and volunteered at the Midvale Historical Society. She found joy working with children, serving 25 years as a Den Mother and teaching Catechism. Ann was a member of St. Joseph the Worker and St. Therese Catholic Church.
Survivors: sons, Bob (Patty), Skip (Barbara), Danny (Becky), Paul (Brenda), Tom (Susan); grandchildren, Jennifer (Jake), Casey, Jessica (Fabio), Carson, Jammie, Katie, Courtney, Chris, Alex, Lauren, Mikaela, Chad, Sam; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Justin, Baylee. Preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a sister.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Therese Catholic Church, 624 West Lennox Street (7825 South), Midvale, Utah. The Holy Rosary will be recited on Monday, November 23, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street (100 East), where a viewing will be held on Monday from 6:00-7:30 p.m.
Interment: Midvale City Cemetery.
