SARAH HANNAH BOYLAN
Sarah Hannah Boylan, daughter of Jess and Sarah McMullen, was born near Williamson, Lucas county, Iowa, March 12, 1858, and departed this life on April 16, 1948, at the age of 90 years, one month and four days.
In 1872 she left Lucas county. In 1890 she was married to Alva Boylan. After having resided at Marysville, Mo., Bremerton, Wash., and St. Paul, Minn., they returned to Chariton in 1928. Mr. Boylan passed away in 1933. At the time of her death she was being cared for in the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Gathercole.
Mrs. Boylan was a member of the Christian church for many years and was ever faithful in her attendance until failing health prevented her doing so.
She is survived by one foster son, Willie Boylan, of St. Paul, Minn., and one sister, Ada Lamourex, of St. Joseph, Mo., and a number of nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends.
Funeral services were held at the Beardsley funeral home Sunday, April 18, at 3:30 p.m. The Rev. J. T. Bloom, of the Christian church, officiated. Burial was made in the Chariton cemetery.
