The son of Nephi Thayne (Birth 22 NOV 1850 in Townsend, Ontario, Canada - Death 8 DEC 1922 in Colonia Dublan, Chihuahua, Mexico) and Elizabeth Reid (Birth 28 NOV 1854 in Bountiful, Davis, Utah, United States - Death 13 AUG 1940 in Phoenix, Maricopa, Arizona, United States).

Nephi first married Mary Elizabeth ADAMS on 1 May 1900, she was born 16 SEP 1883 in Wilford, Apache, Arizona. Her death came 11 MAR 1910 in Colonia Dublan, Chihuahua, Mexico at the young age of 26.

Nephi and Mary Elizabeth had 4 children: Mary Wilma (1901-2001), Beatrice (1904 - 1935), Willard Nephi (1907-1948) and Emerald (1910-1998).

Nephi's second marriage was to Orissa ALLRED on 8 April 1914 she was born 19 APR 1890 in Fairview, Uinta, Wyoming. Her death came on 19 MAR 1972 in Roy, Weber, Utah. They lived in Colonia Dublan, Chihuahua, Mexico until prior to 1930 when the moved to Farmington, San Juan, New Mexico. Most of their children were born in Mexico, with their final children being born in Farmington New Mexico prior to his death 17 July 1937. He along with his daughter Beatrice are buried at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Farmington next to each other.
