Benjamin married Susannah Sprinkle in Highland Co., OH; their marriage was placed in the Highland Co. records in 1820, but the actual date was not recorded.

At the time of the 1820 census, Benjamin & Susannah lived in Brush Creek Twp., Highland Co. In 1830 & 1840, they resided in Mifflin Twp., Pike Co., OH. By 1850, they were back in Highland Co., this time in Fairfield Twp. and they were still there by the 1860 census. In 1870, they were enumerated in Concord Twp., Fayette Co. Finally, in 1880, they were in Circleville, Pickaway Co.

Early census record tallies show more children for than those we have identified: Joseph S.; Mary (McCoy); Lydia; Hannah (Leatherwood); Elizabeth; Sarah; Angeline J.; & Rhoda S. (Hart).
