A twin brother Cord had immigrated earlier.

Married Maria Katharine Elisabeth Engel Mueller in St Louis 1842 and joined the others in Benton County.

Wounded in Battle of Cole Camp 19 June 1861 while serving as Captain of Co. E, Benton County "German Regiment"
