Kathryn L. Johnson, 81, of Aurora, passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2007 at the Waters of Dillsboro. She was born in Constance, KY on Sept. 12, 1926, the daughter of Earl Souther and Mae Dolwick Souther. She was married to James Johnson Jr. on March 8, 1947 and he preceded her in death in 2001.
Surviving are three sons, James Johnson, of Manchester; Leslie Johnson, of Wilmington; and Terry (Tricia) Johnson, of Aurora; her two daughters, Mary Johnson, of Aurora; and Evelyn Stevenson, of Aurora; and her daughter-in-law, Debbie Johnson, of Aurora; one brother, Earl Everett Souther; and one son Grace Cooper. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and son, Larry Dale Johnson.
Mrs. Johnson and her husband were farmers in the Aurora area for many years. They were active, faithful members of the Alliance Church in Aurora their entire life.
Kathryn was a wonderful mother and farm wife. She enjoyed the cattle very much, and her life was her children and grandchildren. She loved music and being involved in the life of her church.
Funeral services are being held today, Tuesday, Nov 13, at 11:00 a.m. at Aurora Alliance Church, with Pastor Dean Greenwood officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Moores Hill. Memorials may be given to the church. Arrangements were made by Filter-DeVries Funeral Home in Dillsboro
