LUMAN E. PRATT DIES IN FLORIDA

BODY TO BE BROUGHT HERE FOR FUNERAL SUNDAY AT WILLARD DOW HOME

A message was received yesterday afternoon by Mrs. Willard H. Dow that her father Luman E. Pratt, age 82, had passed away suddenly yesterday morning at Tarpon Springs, Florida, where he had gone for the winter months. Mr. Pratt was seized with an attack of influenza about a month ago, and since then suffered a relaspe. His condition was very serious, but Monday he was reported as somewhat improved. For the past several years Mr. Pratt has been spending the winters in Florida and as usual last summer was a guest at his daughter's home here.
Mr. Pratt who was born in Prattville, Bradford County, Pa., in December 1844, came to Michigan about 50 years ago and when he first came to Midland was associated with John Larkin in the lumber business. He has for years owned a farm in Ingersoll township, and is very well known in this community. The body will be brought to Midland and the funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Willard Dow home. Midland Daily News Rep dated 1-6-1927 Page - 1.
