Born February 8, 1933 in Eastman, GA to Grover & Edna Blankenship and passed away on November 20, 2009 in Richardson, TX. Proceeded in death by his wife Pat, he is survived by siblings John and his wife Ursula, Betty Morris and Juanita Williams; and his children Calvin Jr. and Marci Blankenship and sons: Patrick, James, Daniel; Vinita Spann and daughters Heather & Amanda; Mark and Karen Blankenship; Jimmie and Christa Blankenship; grandsons Adam, Eric, Ian, and their mother Suzanne Blankenship; great-grandchildren Zachary, Tanner, and Morgan. Calvin was a loving husband, father, brother, and Pampaw. He always had a smile, a kind word, or a bit of humor to brighten your day. He will be truly missed by everyone whose lives he touched. A member of the 24th ID in the Korean War, Calvin returned to Texas to work and raise his family, and retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. after 30 years employment. Visitation is Monday, November 23, 6-8pm with funeral services at 2 pm on Tuesday, at Ted Dickey Funeral Home and a private interment at DFW National Cemetery.
