Capt. B. H. Massey, a prominent citizen of York county, S. C., and a gentleman who was well known in Charlotte, died at his home at Fort Mill, at three o'clock Christmas day, from an afection of the heart. The Rock Hill correspondent of the News and Courier says: "Capt. Massey served the people of this county as their representative in the Legislature for ten years. He was a member of the Wallace House, and at one time chairman of the board of directors of the State Penitentiary. He was sixty years old. His death was a great loss to our county and State. He was a man of sound judgment and ever ready and willing to assist in building up his native State.
