Effie May (Reese) Wood, daughter of Jake and Elizabeth (McQueen) Reese was born December 6, 1894, near Ann, MO in Douglas County. She departed this life February 27, 1974 in Cabool Nursing Home, where she resided for the past few years, at the age of 79 years, two months and 21 days.
On March 8, 1914 she was united in marriage to Harvey R. Wood and to this union three children were born. Chalmer, Elpha, and Ellis. Chalmer preceded her in death December 5, 1964, as did her husband, January 21, 1968. Also preceding her in passing were three brothers, one sister, four half-brothers and a half-sister.
She leaves to mourn her passing a daughter, a son, three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many other relatives and a host of friends.
