Glen (Peeler) Clingenpeel, Sr., 58, of Flora, died at 10 p.m. Monday, May 15, 1978, at his residence. He had been in ill health two years. Born Oct. 25,1919, he was the son of John and Cletus Wilson Clingenpeel. He was married Sept. 13, 1940, at Flora to Esther Justice, who survives. Clingenpeel was set-up manager at Jackson-Lee-Pearson John Deere dealer in Flora the past 12 years. He was one of the first four managers of the Flora Little League when it was formed 25 years ago. He managed the Indians for five years. He also assisted with the American Legion Junior baseball team in Flora for ten years. Clingenpeel was a member of the Bringhurst United Methodist Church, church choir, Moose and Elks lodges in Logansport, Flora Lions Club, and Indiana Sheriff’s Association. Surviving with the wife are two sons, Glen Clingenpeel, Jr., and Roger Clingenpeel, both of Flora; one stepdaughter, Mrs. William Hollis of Flora; three brothers, Wayne Clingenpeel of Delphi, Edward Clingenpeel of Spokane, Wash., and Gerald Clingenpeel of Flora; three sisters, Mary Margaret Pearson, Bonnie Rieken and Diana Nevin, all of Flora; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Reinke Funeral Home, Flora. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery.
