"ALPUENTE FUNERAL HELD TODAY"

"All that was mortal of James A. D. Alpuente, who died yesterday morning, was laid to rest in the Biloxi cemetery. Services were conducted by Rev. Father Keenean under the auspices of the Church of the Nativity and a large number of relatives and friends of the deceased attended the last rites. Beautiful floral offerings attested to the esteem in which he was held. Members of Biloxi Lodge of Elks, of which he was a member, attended in a body. The pallbearers were August Corso, John Schwenek, J. E. Breaux, Jr., G. B. Cousins, Hugh Latimer and Jacob Tremmel."

"Biloxi, Miss. - James A. D. Alpuente, a native of New Orleans, who has been a resident of Biloxi for nine years, died here Monday. He is survived by a wife, five children, a sister and other relatives. He will be buried Tuesday afternoon. Services will be conducted under the auspices of the Church of the Nativity with interment in the Biloxi cemetery. He was a member of the Biloxi Lodge of Elks."

Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Records, Book 12, pg 262: James was 58 years, 11 months, 28 days old when he died at his home, 425 Lameuse St., Biloxi, when he died from a cerebral hemorrhage secondarty to myocarditis and nephritis. He was a tailor. He was the son of Dr. Thomas Alpuente, native of New Orleans.
