Her father's name was Kaplan. Evidently everyone in the family used Koplin, Koplan , Coplin, etc. The 1940 census for her father Frank was Kaplan.
Frank's father was Wenzel Kaplan. HIs name has been spelled different ways also. I now have Franks obituary and where he is buried. Evidently, Fern did not know how to spell his last name also.
