Mrs. W. F. Vore, for whom funeral services were held at Logan at 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, was an old resident of southwestern Iowa, having come to Kanesville, now Council Bluffs, in 1855 in a steamboat.

Elvira Baughn was born July 8, 1844, at Washington Court House, and died at Council Bluffs Feb. 12, 1928. She was married to William F. Vore at Magnolia, in April, 1860. Her husband died Dec. 12, 1900. To this union ten children were born, eight dying in infancy. The children surviving are Mrs. E. E. Book of Logan and Mrs. C. A. Walgren of Yankton, S. D.

Her father, Charles Baughn, came by boat from Cincinnati, 0., in 1855, to Kanesville, and then sent for his family. They settled on a farm at Reeder’s Mills where he lived until the death of his wife. There remain of this family two daughters, Mrs. George Gibbs of San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. Warren Letson of Ocean Park, Calif.

Besides two daughters, Mrs. Vore leaves three grandchildren, Mrs. W. A. Shields and Dr. W. E. Bowen of Council Bluffs, and W. E. Walgren of Yankton, S. D., also three great grandchildren, Billie Shields and Donald and Robert Bowen of Council Bluffs.

She had been a member of the Logan chapter of the O. E. S. almost since its organization.
