Mabel Blair, age 83, of S.R. 551, Waverly, Ohio, died 8:04 P.M. Thursday, November 19, 2009 at the Piketon Nursing Center in Piketon, Ohio. She was born July 7, 1926 in Salyersville, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Proctor and Sarah Salyers Owens. On December 24, 1955 she was united in marriage to James Blair who survives. Also surviving are one brother, of Salyersville, Kentucky, one sister, of Waverly, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by twelve brothers and sisters. Mabel graduated from business college in Lexington, Kentucky, was employed by the Goodyear Atomic Corporation, retiring with forty years of service, and was a member of the Church of Christ. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Sunday at the Magoffin County Funeral Home, 118 Parkway Dr., Salyersville, Kentucky with Harry Helton officiating. Burial will follow in the Owens Family Cemetery, Lick Creek, Kentucky. Friends may call from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the Botkin Funeral Home in Waverly, and from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Sunday at the Magoffin County Funeral Home .
