Husband of Lavina J. MASTERS (1851-1910)

William Temple ANDERSON was born 15 April 1849 near Blacksville, in the 37th District, Monongalia County, Virginia (now WV), the son of Robert ANDERSON (1814-1864) and Sarah TEMPLE (1821-1872).

"WT" married first on 17 Dec 1865 to Lavina J. MASTERS (1851-1910). 10 children were born to this union. WT moved his young family from Monongalia County, WV to Wayne County, IA in 1874, and then to Rooks County, KS in 1885, where, after several other land purchases, they ultimately settled in Hobart Twp just south of Stockton in an area known as Robbers Roost.

After Lavina's death in 1910 from tuberculosis, WT moved west to near Schaeffer's Crossing, Jefferson, CO where he operated a very productive moutain hay ranch. After a brief marriage to Sarah BRISCOE in 1915 which ended in divorce four years later, WT returned home to Rooks County, Kansas where he spent his remaining years living with his children.
