Susanna "Catherine" Ramsburg was born in Frederick County, a daughter of Jacob Ramsburg and Anne Elizabeth Devillbiss. She was twice married, first to Joseph Hardy (1787 - 1814), and second to George Dutro.

Catherine's first husband, Joseph Hardy (1787 - 1814), was a son of Arnold Hardy and Barbara Devilbiss and was born in Frederick County.

Joseph Hardy was a soldier serving during the War of 1812 and was killed in Baltimore while on furlough in 1814. Catherine and Joseph were the parents of three children: one daughter, Susanna Hardy --? and two sons, Ezra Hardy and John Caspar Hardy.

Catherine and her second husband George Dutro owned a small farm with lots of timberland on the side of the mountain south of Mountaindale on what is today Putman Road.

Susanna "Catherine" and George Dutro were the parents of three children: one daughter, Catherine A. Dutro, and two sons, John R. Dutro, and Lewis Hardy who had moved away.

Susanna "Catherine" and George may have operated a saw mill and used their timber from the mountain to sell lumber. After their deaths, the properties were sold in wood lots.
