Alexander Hamilton Biscoe, born in Putnam County, Georgia, was the son of Basil Biscoe and Chloe Williams. He was the husband of Caroline Penina Gresham, whom he married in 1837, and father of Mary Chlorinda "Chloe" Biscoe, Edmund Key Biscoe, John Basil Biscoe and James Hamilton "Hamp" Biscoe.

The Galveston Daily News, Galveston, Tex. 11-5-1875:
OBITUARY. BISCOE--Died at Forest, Miss., on the 6th of October, Mr. A. H. Biscoe, aged 61 years.
Mr. Biscoe was a native of Georgia, removed to Alabama, thence to Goliad, Texas, in 1850, and returned to Mississippi at the close of the war. He was a brave, true man, of strong friendship and generous disposition, and died in the full belief of the reward of those who performed faithfully their duty here.
He was a Mason of high standing, and was buried with Masonic honors. He leaves many friends in Texas to mourn his loss.
