"Slow Joe" Doyle became a pitcher for the New York Highlanders (later the NY Yankees) in 1906. He pitched 2 shutouts in his first 2 major league games, and was on the Yankee roster from 1906-1910. He was nicknamed "Slow Joe" because he aggravated batters by stalling while adjusting his cap, belt, pants, shoes, etc. His baseball card, issued showing the league as "Nat'l" in error, is a rare collectible.
