Bill also worked for Morrill County Implement in Bridgeport. For the past several years he sold residential and farm real estate for Asmus Brothers in Scottsbluff. He was a member of Elks Lodge No. 1367 in Scottsbluff.
He died April 17, 1993, at his home in Bayard. Survivors include his second wife, adopted daughter Wilma Jo "B.J." Otte of Bayard, stepsons Robert Wilson of Shawnee, Kan., Gordon Wilson of Lincoln and Wade Blue of Longmont, Colo., and daughters Thomasine Wilson of Omaha, Sharon Maxwell of Chattaroy, Wash., and Carol Coile of South Lake Tahoe, Calif.
Services were held at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Scottsbluff with the Revs. Charles Torpey and Max Valdez officiating. A vigil service was recited at Jolliffe Funeral Home in Scottsbluff. Burial of the ashes took place at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff.
Memorials have been established to the Regional West Medical Center Hospice Patient Fund and the Bayard Rescue Unit.
