Mamie Archer Urbanovsky, age 94 of West, passed away Friday morning, December 3, 1999 in West Rest Haven.

Rosary was recited at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, December 5, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 1:45 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West, with the Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery in West.

Mrs. Urbanovsky was born February 8, 1905 in West and had lived in West all of her life. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in West, the K.J.Z.T. Society #11, Catholic Daughters of America Court #829 of West (which she had one time served as Grand Regent), leader of the Junior CDA for a number of years. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Waco and taught school at Cottonwood for a number of years. Mrs. Urbanovsky was a Cotton Palace Duchess in the 1920's. She was also associated with Texaco as a wholesale agent for 50 years.

She married Jack Archer, who preceded her in death in 1940. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jacqueline Archer Batte, who died in 1947. She then married Louis Urbanovsky in 1954 and he preceded her in death in February of 1963.

She is survived by two sons, Edward Archer and his wife, Ann of West and Clifford Archer of West; one adopted daughter, Alex Bailey and her husband, Calvin of Ross; two brothers, Alfred Nemecek and his wife, Virginia of Kyle, and Joseph Nemecek and his wife, Lera of Corpus Christi; two sisters, Rudie Grimm of West and Georgia Cocek of Bishop; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers were Jeffrey Culverhouse, Pat Archer, Raymond Bates, Michael Archer, Joey Bailey, Jack Archer, Kevin Talley and Sean Calhoun.

Thee family received friends for visitation at Kotch Funeral Home from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, December 4.

Kotch Funeral Home in West was in charge of arrangements.
