John D. Sulak, 75, of Marlin, died at his home Nov. 25. Death was from an apparent heart attack.
Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Marlin, the Rev. Leonard Leddy officiated. Graveside services were conducted at 3 p.m. Monday in St. Mary's Cemetery at West, the Rev. George Doskocil officiating.
Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday in the Adams Funeral Chapel in Marlin.
Mr. Sulak was born June 25, 1908 at West, the son of Sylvester and Victoria Bednar Sulak. He and the former Mary Divin were married November 23, 1936 at West.
The family had resided in Marlin since 1951. Mr. Sulak retired in 1972 after serving as assistant physical therapist with the Veterans Administration hospital in Marlin for 22 years. He was a member of the Marlin Disabled American Veterans, the Marlin Veterans of Foreign Wars, and active in volunteer work with the Veterans hospital. He was a World War II veteran of the Navy. Mr. Sulak was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Marlin.
Survivors include his wife of Marlin; a daughter, Pamela Watson of Liberty; two sons, Thomas Sulak of Waco and Donald Sulak of Austin; four sisters, Albina Grellhesl and Doris King, both of West, Lillie Mae Schroeder of Texarkana and Martha Stafford of Waco; two brothers, Sylvester Sulak of Big Spring and Vaclav (Wesley) Sulak of West; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bob Kupper, Bruno Brezina, Arthur Woltman, Henry Rummell, Joe Hablinski and Ed O'Lexey.
Honorary pallbearers were Members of Marlin D.A.V., members of Marlin V.F.W. and members of Marlin Knights of Columbus.
