Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb 16 at the Cokeville LDS Church at 1 p.m. Viewing at 12 noon in the Fireside room.
She was born Dec 5, 1922 at the family home on a ranch five miles south of Cokeville, a daughter of Ida Susannah Stock and Rowland Bennion. She was the youngest of seven children and they only daughter. She grew up on the ranch where she was born and attended the Cokeville schools. She graduated from Cokeville High School in May 1941 and attended Utah State University. She married Doyle Nelson Knouse on August 12, 1943 in her home. This marriage was later solemnized on August 12, 1983 in the Ogden LDS Temple. They had six children, two sons and four daughters. After they were married they lived in Tacoma. Wash. for two years working in the shipyards during World War II. After the war they returned to Cokeville to make their home.
She was a member of the LDS Church were she actively served. She served as secretary in Relief Society, Primary and Sunday School, has taught many different classes, served as a counselor in the Relief Society and the MIA, has been a visiting teacher and taught early morning seminary.
Surviving are her husband, Doyle of Cokeville, two sons, Stephen Doyle of Houston, Tex. and Paul Thomas of Salt Lake City, four daughters, Mrs Gordon (Danalee) Thornock, Cokeville, Mrs Kevin (Kathy) Coats, McCornick, Utah, Mrs David (Janet) Grandy, Nuremberg, Germany and Karen of Cokeville. She has 15 grandchildren and four brothers, Alden S., Salt Lake City, Richard E., Sacramento, Calif., Samuel O., Cokeville, and Melvin J., Independence, Mo. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Vernal R. and Stanley R.
