Robert H. Campbell entered the service as First Lieutenant in Company E of the the Fourth Michigan Infantry on July 1, 1862, for three years service. He was commissioned as First Lieutenant and Quartermaster on September 1, 1862. Robert was mustered out and honorably discharged at the expiration of his term of service on June 28, 1864.
